I love walking down the stairs
As evening descends
As the light adjusts
From natural to manmade
The lamps now illuminate
What before reflected sun
As the light adjusts
From natural to manmade
I think of what is beyond
The room I enter into
As the light adjusts
From natural to manmade
Outside the walls with hanging pictures
That now look different
As the light adjusts
From natural to manmade
The world is so uncertain
And mankind so mystifying
As the light adjusts
From natural to manmade
The raping and destruction
Of innocents and land goes on
As the light adjusts
From natural to manmade
Poisoning of spirit and waters
Permeates at all depths
As the light adjusts
From natural to manmade
But one knows resilient earth
Still smiles from under towers
As the light adjusts
From Natural to manmade
And what, indeed is natural?
One ponders an agenda
As the light adjusts
From natural to manmade
The conquer seems intended
Or perhaps just simply fated
As the light adjusts
From natural to manmade
We float above the ground
Removed in our own skin
As the light adjusts
From natural to manmade
For although the surface changes
So does what's underneath
As the light adjusts
From natural to manmade
As evening descends
As the light adjusts
From natural to manmade
The lamps now illuminate
What before reflected sun
As the light adjusts
From natural to manmade
I think of what is beyond
The room I enter into
As the light adjusts
